Heart of The City

Whether it was luck, the law of averages or destiny, something amazing happened last night. The New Orléans Saints, for the first time in franchise history, are NFL champions.

A city that has hosted the Super Bowl a numerous amount of times finally gets to celebrate its own team’s success. This win was bigger than the team though. This win was for a city that is still recovering from the worst hurricane in U.S. history. A city that never had a championship team to throw a parade for, but still has a huge parade every year. Many residents of New Orleans have said this team was the city’s pride and heart, which is amazing considering how bad they have been historically. In fact they may be some of the most loyal fans in the world (aside from cubs fans).

New Orleans finally came back to life on Sunday night. If you listen closely, you can hear the city’s heart beating down on Bourbon street.
